SUMMARY:QUICKSTICKS HOCKEY "MOBBERLEY CUP" TOURNAMENT
DESCRIPTION:We would like to invite our schools to take part in our 11th annual ‘Quicksticks’ Hockey Tournaments. \nWe run 2 tournaments based on your pupils levels of skills and confidence. \nBoth events (Mobberley Cup & Plate Competition) will run alongside on Friday 24th April at The Kings School\, Archdeacon Meadow GL1 2TF\, from 9.30-13.30 (finish time TBC depending on the number of teams taking part)\nEmail bh@gssn.co.uk to register a team/s. \nEVENT LEAD \nThe King’s School Sport Leaders will be supporting the GSSN with the running of the Tournaments\n\nEEVENT FORMAT\nThe Mobberley Cup and Plate Tournaments will run alongside on the same day.\n4-a-side with up to 2 substitutes\, using rolling replacements at any time.\nMatches start with a centre (free) pass from the half way line\, which must be played backwards. Opponents must be at least 3 metres back and in their own half.\nGoals can only be scored from inside the opponent’s half. A penalty goal is scored a player deliberately prevents the ball crossing the goal line using their feet or body.\nA free pass is awarded for any of the incidents below and are indirect (goals cannot be scored directly from them). Opponents must be at least 3 metres away from the free pass. If an offence occurs within 5 metres of the goal\, the free pass is taken at a point 5 metres from the goal.\nStudents need to wear proper trainers and MUST wear shin guards.\nSchools should bring their own equipment if possessed (hockey sticks & Quicksticks balls) and a set of bibs.
