KS1 EASTER MULTI-SKILLS FESTIVAL

All affiliated schools are invited to our forthcoming KS1 Easter-themed Multi-Skills Festival.

There will be 12 different multi-skills stations based on the EYFS basics of target throwing, balancing, coordination, and agility aimed at all abilities.

There is no limit on the number of classes each school can bring. Groups should be made of up to 30 pupils from KS1 including Reception.

QUICKSTICKS DEVELOPMENT TEAMS TOURNAMENT

Event Lead
Brian Mobberley from the Gloucester Hockey Club is supporting the GSSN with the running of the Quicksticks Hockey - Development Teams Tournament.

The Teams
This competition is for pupils in Year 5 and Year 6.
Teams will be 4-a-side with squad size being a maximum of 6 players.
There must be 2 girls and 2 boys on the pitch at all times.
Gender/mixed – 2 boys and 2 girls on the pitch from a squad of 6
First named team to provide match ball (if possessed); second named team to change/wear bibs in case of colour clash.
Students need to wear proper trainers and MUST wear shin guards
Schools should bring their own equipment if possessed (hockey sticks & Quicksticks balls) & a set of bibs in case of colour clashes.
Gum shields are advised but not compulsory
Schools will be responsible for their first aid
Photographs may be taken so please arrange your school permission

QUICKSTICKS HOCKEY COMPETITION

All Primary Schools are invited to take part in our annual ‘Quicksticks’ Hockey Tournament which is being held at The King's School, Archdeacon Meadow, GL1 2TF. Once again, the event is being delivered in partnership with Gloucester City Hockey Club and we are very pleased to be working with them.

THE RULES: All matches to be played to the Rules of Quicksticks Hockey but subject to the following Tournament  Rules:

This competition is for pupils in Years 5 and 6
Teams will be 4-a-side with squad size being a maximum of 6 players
There must be 2 girls and 2 boys on the pitch at all times from a squad of 6

KS2 SEND NEW AGE KURLING & BOCCIA

All Primary Schools are invited to take part in our SEND New Age Kurling and Boccia Festival.

SEND events are aimed specifically at SEND students. There is an expectation that participants DO NOT compete for the school in any other non-SEND linked sport. 

The emphasis should be on encouraging participation for ALL young people particularly those that do not usually get an opportunity to represent their school.

The Teams
Teams will rotate taking part in NAK, Boccia and Table Tennis against other participant schools.

This competition is for boys and girls in Years 3, 4 & 5 all of whom have a Special Educational Need or Disability.
Teams of 4 players with 6 in a squad.

Quadkids is a Primary age athletics concept adapted into 4 events creating a suitable stepping stone into Track & Field.

The 4 disciplines are:
50 metres Sprint
300 metres Run
Standing Long Jump
Mini Vortex Howler Throw

The Teams
This competition is for boys and girls in Year 1 and 2.
Teams must consist of a minimum of 4 boys and 4 girls (8), and a maximum of 5 boys and 5 girls (10) - the top 4 athletes making up the final score.

 Each individual will compete in all 4 events

All schools are invited to take part in our annual Tag Rugby Festival which is being held at Henley Bank High School

PLAN OF THE DAY
10.00 Schools arrive

THE TEAMS:
Age – year 4, 5/6
Squad of 12 players
Team of 8
Must have a minimum of 2 girls on the pitch at any time.

FESTIVAL FORMAT:
There is an expectation, but not a requirement, that all the squad members should receive equal playing time
Rolling subs are allowed
No scores will be recorded

Schools should bring a set of bibs in case of colour clashes, plus their own practice ball.
Schools will be responsible for their own first aid
Pupils to bring a packed lunch, water, and warm clothing.

Photographs will be taken so please arrange your own school permission and let us know on the day if there are any children that aren’t allowed photographs to be taken.

TABLE TENNIS COMPETITION

All GSSN schools are invited to our forthcoming Table Tennis Competition which will take place on Friday 18th October at Upton St Leonards Primary School.

Event Lead
Elliot Prince, PE Coordinator at Upton St Leonards C of E Primary is supporting the GSSN with the running of the competition

The Teams
This event is open to all Key Stage 2 pupils
4 Boys and 4 Girls - any age, any ability, they just the willingness to ‘have a go’
The boys and the girls results will be totalled to give the overall team result
Players will be ranked -1,2,3 and 4
Players will play an individual match against their opposing seed
Players will also play one doubles match -1,2 v 1,2 and 3,4 v 3,4
