KS1 BENCHBALL FESTIVAL (2/2)

Due to popular demand, we will be running a second KS1 Benchball Festival which will take place on WEDNESDAY 15th JUNE at  Dinglewell Infant School

The Teams
This competition is for boys and girls in KS1.
10 players in a squad – 8 on the court at any one time. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 teams.

Rules:
- 5 minutes time games
- Chest and overhead pass only – two hands
- If the ball is caught by the person on the bench – the player that threw it goes on the bench
- First team to get all their players on the bench wins or the team with the most players on the bench at the end of the time win
- If, when the ball is caught on the bench, the player falls off – it doesn’t count
- Players can’t move with the ball

PRIMARY SEND ATHLETICS FESTIVAL

The Teams: This competition is for boys and girls from Years 2 to 6 all of whom have a Special Educational Need or Disability.

This is a non-competitive Festival therefore no results will be recorded. Each child will be receive a participation certificate.

SEND competitions are aimed specifically at SEND students. There is an expectation that participants DO NOT compete for the school in any other non-SEND linked sport. 

The emphasis should be on encouraging competition for ALL young people particularly those that do not usually get an opportunity to represent their school.

TRACK: Hurdles, Sprint races, Relays

PRIMARY ROUNDERS TOURNAMENT

All Schools are invited to take part in our Primary Rounder’s Tournament which will be taking place at the  Denmark Road High School (Lansdown Road School field) on Thursday, 23rd June from 9.30 till 2.30 pm. 

The Teams
This competition is for boys and girls in Year 5 and 6 (small schools can use Year 4 students if required). Each team must have no more than 9 players on the field, and no more than 5 boys at any one time. Total squad 9 to 12 players.

 A B team competition will run alongside the main competition. Schools can enter an A and a B teams.

MOUNTAIN BIKE COMPETITION

Event Lead The GSSN supported by Henley Bank High School Sport Leaders will be running the Primary Schools' Mountain Bike event.

The Teams The competition is for primary school-aged students from Year 5 and 6. Teams must be made up of 4 riders, 2 boys and 2 girls.
Equipment Cycles (multi-geared mountain bikes) and helmets will be provided by the organisers. Individuals may bring their own helmets providing their school is satisfied that they are in good order. Full safety briefings and course preparation will be undertaken before the race but participants will still need to be competent with handling and riding a mountain bike.

The Competition Format The competition will be run on grass l. It will be based on a team relay challenge; to complete a set number of laps of the designated course (approx. 800m in length). The team completing the required number of laps first will win. Each member of the team will complete a lap (in turn) and hand over to the next team member until all laps have been completed. The number of laps to be completed by each rider will be decided on the day and take into account prevailing weather conditions and the length of the course.

There will also be an open entry Individual Time Trial Race (1 lap) for any team members to take part in on the day – this will be a separate competition with medals to be won in addition to the team event.

SUMMER DANCE FESTIVAL

PRIMARY DANCE FESTIVAL - SUMMER SHOW 2022

All Primary Schools are invited to attend our Dance Festival at ST PETER'S HIGH SCHOOL

 All schools attending will be asked to prepare a dance with a group of pupils for this event. There is no limit in the number of groups each school can bring.

Teachers can select the age group and dance theme that they would like and your Dance piece should be approximately 3 minutes. 

TICKETS:

  • Schools to let us know how many tickets are required for family and/or friends.
  • There will be no advance selling of tickets – all spectators to purchase their tickets at the door at 18.00 before the show starts at 18.30
  • Cost of the tickets:
    Adults £5.00 (16 or over)
    Child £2.50
    Family of 4 (2 adults & 2 children) £13.00

PROGRAMME:
Schools to provide a title and a description of the dance and the year group/s involved in the program as soon as you can.

Show running order will be in alphabetical order.
Programs will be available at the door free of charge.

Dance Festival Format:
 16.00 School dance groups arrive. Briefing and rehearsal on stage with music and lights
18.00 Doors open for tickets sales - refreshments available
18.30 Start of show

19.30/45 End of the show (depending on the number of schools taking part)

The Dance Festival will provide a fantastic opportunity for your pupils to experience the excitement of preparing for a stage show and then being given a ‘performance platform’.
