GIRLS ONLY – BASKETBALL TASTER SESSION AND TOURNAMENT

We are proud to launch our new partnership with the Gloucester City basketball with two new events for this year’s calendar.

Girls Only: Thurs 18th September
Boys Only: Thurs 16th October

Both will run from 9.45 – 12.00 at Sir Thomas Rich’s School.
THE TEAMS
This event for boys and girls in years 4 to 6.
Each school can bring along a squad of up to 10 players, with 5 in each team to play the tournament.

EVENT LEAD
Sir Thomas Rich’s School and their Sport Leaders will be supporting the GSSN with the running of this event.

EVENT FORMAT
9.45 Schools arrive
10.00—11.00 Basketball skills and drills to include:

Dribbling and passing
Receiving and shooting (set and layup shots)
One on one marking
Basic zone defence formation

11.00—12.00 5 a-side games in a round robin format (number of teams dependent).
