The Gloucester School Sports Network has been working with schools across Gloucester for over 25 years, creating opportunities for children and young people to experience worthwhile, enjoyable and high-quality PE, school sport and physical activity.
Our schools are at the heart of everything we do. We work in partnership with schools to understand their needs, provide opportunities and develop support that makes a positive difference to children, young people and teachers.
Supporting Our Schools
GSSN provides a broad programme of opportunities and support throughout the school year, including:
Competitions & Festivals
A year-round programme of competitions, festivals and participation events for children and young people across Gloucester.
PE & Professional Development
CPD opportunities and support to help teachers develop their knowledge, confidence and skills in PE and school sport.
Specialist Support
Access to specialist expertise across areas including gymnastics, dance, archery, yoga, physical literacy and team games.
SEND & Inclusion
Inclusive festivals, competitions and activities designed to provide meaningful opportunities for children and young people with SEND.
Young Leadership
Opportunities for secondary students to develop and apply leadership skills by supporting events and activities across the GSSN network.
Working in Partnership
We believe that the strongest school sport partnerships are built on communication, collaboration and an understanding of local need.
Our relationship with schools goes beyond providing a programme of events. We want to understand the priorities and challenges facing schools and work with them to identify where GSSN can provide the greatest support.
We value the relationships we have developed with schools over many years and are committed to continuing to strengthen these relationships as the school sport landscape evolves.
