BOYS ONLY – BASKETBALL TASTER SESSION AND TOURNAMENT

Following the success of our events last year, we are excited to announce that we will once again run separate events for boys and girls in this year’s calendar.

GIRLS ONLY EVENT on Thurs 18th September
BOYS ONLY EVENT on Thurs 16th October
Both will run from 9.45 – 12.00 at Sir Thomas Rich’s School.

THE TEAMS
This event for boys and girls in years 4 to 6.
Each school can bring along a squad of up to 10 players, with 5 in each team to play the tournament.

EVENT LEAD
Sir Thomas Rich’s School Sport Leaders will be supporting the GSSN with the running of this event.

EVENT FORMAT
9.45 Schools arrive
10.00—11.00 Basketball skills and drills to include:

Dribbling and passing
Receiving and shooting (set and layup shots)
One on one marking
Basic zone defence formation

11.00—12.00 5 a-side games in a round robin format (number of teams dependent).
