KEY STEPS 3 GYMNASTICS COMPETITION

All our schools are invited to take part in our Key Steps 3 Gymnastics Competition for Years 5 & 6.

EVENT OVERVIEW
Wednesday 26th March
9.30-12.30
Gloucester Academy

THE TEAMS
This competition is for students in Years 5, and 6.
Teams will be made up of 6 gymnasts (teams can be a mix of boys and girls).
All 6 gymnasts will compete, with the top 5 scores counting toward the team score.
Teams need to be made up of children who receive no more than 1 hour of community gymnastics club coaching per week. This is not a competition for gymnasts who already receive development coaching and perform in a competitive structure outside of school. NB: The organisers will be reliant upon the professional discretion of schools to ensure is adhered to.

EVENT LEAD
Glen Tharia, Headteacher of Elmbridge Primary School will be supporting the GSSN staff with the delivery of this gymnastics competition.

EVENT FORMAT
Following the National Framework for Gymnastics, this competition will adopt the Key Step 3 Gymnastics criteria.
A floor sequence and vault will be performed.
No body management routine will be required.
The vault height will be 100 cm.

Officiating: The event will be officiated by experienced gymnastics judges recruited through the Gloucestershire Schools’ Gymnastics Association.

Due to this event being held in a school indoor space, and as we continue to reinforce the safeguarding policies within school settings, parents/carers as spectators are not allowed to attend the event. Thank you for your continued understanding.
