KS1 CRICKET FESTIVAL

All Gloucester Primary Schools are invited to participate in a fun Cricket Festival.
This is part of a series of 3 events in collaboration with The Gloucestershire Cricket Foundation led by Sir Thomas Rich’s School Sport leaders.

KS2 Thursday 29th April
Both 10.00 –12.00

The Teams
This event is open to years 1 and 2. Teams of 10 children – mixed boys and girls.

EVENT FORMAT
The KS1 Cricket Festival is designed to introduce pupils to cricket in a fun, inclusive and engaging environment, with a strong focus on participation, teamwork and developing fundamental movement skills. The event will begin with a carousel of cricket-based skill activities, allowing pupils to practise and develop key skills such as: throwing and catching, batting and striking, bowling accuracy, agility, balance and coordination. Following the skills circuit, schools will take part in a series of fun participation games designed to encourage teamwork, enjoyment and confidence within a game situation. The festival is aimed at providing pupils with a positive introduction to cricket, with all activities adapted to suit the age and ability of the participants.
